The main differences are the PC version has local multiplayer missions, while the GBA version has a post-game bonus mission (may be added to PC in the future).
Also the 'Hard' difficulty in the PC version is equal to 'Normal' difficulty in the GBA version. The shield is a bit more forgiving on PC, unless you use Hard difficulty.
No, most of the fixes are PC-specific (e.g. achievements & button icons, but also the mentioned crash and visual bugs don't affect the GBA version, they were side effects of porting). There's a chance we'll update the GBA ROM in the future but it won't be as frequent as PC version updates!
I quite often take one of my Steam Deck or Analogue pocket with me on trips and would love to just pick up and play from where I last was on either platform
Agreed, I am in the same boat with MM+ and Steam Deck and this would be awesome.
