ROM save to Steam?
Hello!

So far, this is awesome! I've not played it before, but I heard about it a while ago and have been pumped for it's Steam release.

I've played today for a little bit via the ROM in the Steam files on my RG35XXSP and it's wonderful!

I was wondering if the save from the ROM will work with the Steam release?

Thanks! Are there any gameplay differences between the ROM and Steam game?

The main differences are the PC version has local multiplayer missions, while the GBA version has a post-game bonus mission (may be added to PC in the future).

Also the 'Hard' difficulty in the PC version is equal to 'Normal' difficulty in the GBA version. The shield is a bit more forgiving on PC, unless you use Hard difficulty.

I've got one more question! Does the ROM need/get 'updated' with the PC version as often? I.E. today there was a patch to the game, do I need to copy the ROM over every once and a while to get fixes that the PC version might have?

No, most of the fixes are PC-specific (e.g. achievements & button icons, but also the mentioned crash and visual bugs don't affect the GBA version, they were side effects of porting). There's a chance we'll update the GBA ROM in the future but it won't be as frequent as PC version updates!

Ok, thanks again!

I don't suppose you could potentially provide details of the layout of the save files for each platform, I would like to write a little program to allow them to be converted from Steam to GBA and back.

I quite often take one of my Steam Deck or Analogue pocket with me on trips and would love to just pick up and play from where I last was on either platform

Agreed, I am in the same boat with MM+ and Steam Deck and this would be awesome.
