Hello! I'm Erik, the developer of this game. I use these forums all the time to communicate back and forth with players so I highly encourage you to post feedback, suggestions, bug reports, etc.

Here's some important notes that will help you get the most out of the game and these forums:

Community Standards

I do ask you keep your tone respectful of each other in these forums, fortunately it seems people are great at following this rule so these forums can remain helpful for me and everyone else.

The in-game community itself is also very different than most other online games - it's not a particularly serious game, and the expectation is when you're playing online you're playing to have fun. Winning of course matters, but it's more important that all players are having a good time, and as such good sportsmanship is the key expectation.

Although not required, the 'Kudos' function (default key: K) will congratulate the player who delivered a particularly nice skill-shot on you - this very much exemplifies and encourages the kind of attitude most players share.

Trash talking / baiting / taunting are very much frowned upon and in extreme cases will result in some form of mod action. Thankfully such interventions have been rare but they can and do happen. If you do spot a player behaving particularly badly, grab a screenshot and post in these forums along with their Steam profile link (accessible from Menu / Players / Steam Profile) and I'll decide what action to take.

In general, just keep it fun & friendly and everyone will be better off. Thanks in advance for helping keep the community positive.

Development Updates

The game has been in development since July 2013, and even though it officially launched in March 2015 it's been receiving constant updates. Here are some ways to stay informed about how the game is being updated:

To receive a Steam notification of all major game announcements, go to the game’s Store Page and hit ‘Follow’.

To participate in Beta versions, and receive notifications when new Beta versions are available, go to the Beta Updates sub-forum and hit 'Subscribe to Forum'. This is a good way to stay up-to-date with new features without getting all the notifications anytime someone posts in the main discussion forum.

To receive a Steam notification of all patch notes, go to the Patch Notes Mega-Thread and hit ‘Subscribe’.

To receive a Steam notification for all times someone posts a new thread in the forum, go to the game’s Discussion Page and hit ‘Subscribe to Forum’:

I also have a mailing list[docs.google.com] that I very rarely use, but may post certain announcements about Disco Dodgeball or perhaps even other games.

And I also have a Twitter profile. It’s not the best place for bug reports, but am happy to chat about game stuff there and I'll post about random game dev stuff and other interesting games I find.
