Has anyone put any thought into what the story for this game is?

What we know is that it's the year 20k+, that robots seem to be the only "beings" around and that some of the few traces of humans shown in the game are dodgeball, discos, and roller-derbies. Additionally we know that the robots can violently be disassembled and reassembled instantaneously, without any visible damage. The players seem to like to take each other out, judging by the smiles on the robot faces, but who knows, maybe there's an evil overlord watching over them, forcing them to do so? An evil criminal mastermind trying to control the robots by making them fight each other à la Hunger Games. Ultramegabot? Do we become the president because we saved the galaxy from the mind controlling abilities of Ultramegabot? Did we free our people from "his" evil clutches? What if the power we receive from becoming the president corrupts us and we become what we had fought. Maybe we're like Harvey Dent in the Dark Knight. We start off by putting loads of mobsters into jail, but we turn into Two-Face for some reason. It would explain why Ultramegabot has so many upgrades. Those were probably the upgrades "he" bought when he was fighting his way to the top. Maybe that's why the cycle always continues.

I also noticed the fact that there are 3 "generals" or "bosses" before Ultramegabot and that there are 3 levels for each stage. I have yet to find out what this number could mean.

Imagine that at some point between 20¨000 years into the future and today, because of the increased violence and casualites, someone came up with the idea to replace sportsplayers with robots. No injuries, no casualities. as a result an interest in robotics engineering started rising and people would design robots to play dodgeball in their stead and would attempt to make a living out of it. additionaly gambling shot through the air as a result of that and people would make a living out of gambling on the contenders, or by registering their own creations.

people could be entertain themselves with a sport that was dominated by violence, but without any injuries or casualities.

Yeah pretty much all that has actually been said about the "lore" is that it takes place in 20,000A.D and it's some sport of future sport where robots blow eachother up with dodgeballs.

Well... Apperently, earth was blown up by aliens using intergalatic fireworks, they felt bad about it so they decided to research them though electromagnetic waves (Not sure though). A error in the research made it so the main things were dance parties, dodgeball, and rollerblading. So every 1,000(?) years a competition is done with human effigies (the robots), the winner gets to be the presedent of the galaxy for 1,000 years(?).

Final boss, My guess is that bots are voted to be in order. Most voted bot goes first, if first bot runs out of lives they go to the next most voted bot. they keep doing this untill one beats ultra mega bot, the final challenge to the presedent of the galaxy position.
