XBOX Gamepad not working?

Been gaming for many years, PC gaming too. I play on an ASUS ROG Ally, and for some reason this game refuses to recognize any Xbox game-pads when they are plugged in (Or wirelessly connected)! I am able to highlight the first selection on the Main Menu with the game-pad, but I am unable to select it or change my selection. In game I get no response whatsoever.

Mind you, this is after already disabling the ROG Ally's Built in controller. The built in controller works, but I'm simply trying to play the game while on a bigger monitor using a USB-C Hub and an Xbox controller! I have basically never run into issues otherwise when playing different games with the xbox controller on here. LIterally only Roogtops & Alleys gives me an issue! I literally just booted it up after playing Mirrors Edge 2 flawlessly with the gamepad.

I've tried different Xbox controllers and everything, yet nothing works! (except for the built in controls but we do not want that!)
Any ideas guys???? I've tried all the basic ♥♥♥♥, reinstalling drivers, restarting everything multiple times, different USB ports- None of that ♥♥♥♥ worked soooo. I'm open to ideas! lol
