How to use zip lines?

So, to me zip lines in this game seem random, I can't find a proper spot to start jumping or grabbing. Is it just bugged or could anyone tell me a proper way to use them?

grab/climb button when the line is around your head/chest area. you can go up and down them.

you can not be in a trick state when you grab it, but CAN grab it say mid falling after doing a quick flip.

Okey now I get it. The problem was that I hold grab button instead of grab in the right moment. I didn't know you can go up too, that's really cool. Thank you so much.

Guys¡ since I found how to properly use them now I rarely fail to grab them. Just practice a bit

I don't really like the ziplines. Compared to a lot of other freerunning games, they just kinda ruin the flow with how strict they feel compared to everything else.
