Accessories not working?

Is it just me or are accessories not working? I equipped everyone with Full Moon Rings that say prevent paralysis, but they all still get that status effect. Same with the anti sleep one.

In the older games, they were not 100% resistance vs paralysis, but around 50%. I'm assuming that's probably why.

I was curious about that as well, i got cursed item that gave me confused status and i equipped it + the ring that make me IMMUNE to confuse but still ended up getting confused, was very disappointed :(

They probably just don't give full immunity based on the descriptions.

Yeah every single one says that they *help* to *prevent* a condition. None of them say that they grant immunity. None of them will protect you from self inflicted status. A gadabout will still paralyze or put themselves to sleep while wearing these charms.
The only thing in this game that will stop a curse is going to a priest and destroying the cursed equipment.

I think all resist gear is broken. I give everybody asbestos earrings that is supposed to reduce damage from fire attacks and spells and the damage is the same whether equipped or not. Maybe I'm here too soon. Is level 30 too low for Orochi's lair? I mean, regardless resist gear isn't doing anything.

unless the item says it grants immunity it doesnt.

if it outright says "prevents status" then its immunity.

if anything says "helps to prevent" "wards off" or "resists" then its a percentage to dodge it.

for example an item might say it "resists wind dmg" that likely means you take like 25% less dmg from wind attacks.

similraly an item my say prevents sleep status. this is immunity.
but if it says helps to prevent sleep status, then its a resistance/dodge percentage like a 25% higher chance to avoid it.

immunity only applies to battle attacks, not cursed items.

oooh i guess that makes sense now that i read the item again, yea it HELPS prevent confusion. That is on me.
