Rousing Ring. What does it do exactly?
It says it helps prevent its wearer from being sent to sleep.
But that doesn't seem to be the case? Whenever a sleep spell is casted, it looks like 100% of the time I get put the sleep.

I even question if accessories/rings even work. Or am I missing something here?

In the mobile port of the game Ortega's helm grants various immunities. The description of the helmet in this version doesn't mention immunities at all, but my hero is getting immune messages in various fights. Unless the earthen plate is doing it? It isn't his accessories.

Ortega's Helmet does list Abnormal Resistance 1[50], so thanks for reminding me. I don't know which ones they are though, as nothing shares that property, but Heavenly Helm is Abnormal Resistance 2[50]. For where I got those numbers,
https://hyperwiki.jp/dq3rhd2d/

I've upgraded it to the Auroral Helmet which gives 1.2x Zap damage but I guess loses the ailment resistance property, and you're required to do so for the new post-game dungeon. So if you put a Merchant in your party, could you press "Show" (appraise) on Ortega's Helmet and see what it says?

Saw a streamer appraise Ortega's Helm, so:

Now, this helm's really something. You're less likely to be bedazzled, put to sleep or affected by any annoying spells while wearing it. It's almost as if the helmet itself longs to protect its wearer... Ha, imagine that: headgear with a will of its own! Hmm, this doesn't seem to be cursed at least. Feel free to equip it if you like! I don't know if anyone would be able to give you a price for it. Well, that's all I've got to say for now. Let me know when you pick up something new; I'd be more than happy to take a look!"

Hi.

With Rousing Ring, I just thrown a "But [Hero] is immune!" message from Morphean Mushroom's sleep physical attack, followed by sleep breath putting him to sleep, in THE SAME ROUND. It's resistance all right, but the game wants to tell you the resistance made the difference.

It should have given you a "But [character] is resistant message! But then it would have been more money using that message and an immunity message >:( >:( >:(

For context: I'm at the Pyramid and random mobs keep putting my characters to sleep despite having the "Rousing Ring" equip, without fail.
Or does the Pyramid prevent these things from working? (like the Basement room where you can't use magic)
I'm not sure why but I'm having the same exact issue with the ring in that same area. I'm trying to keep my priest awake for heals but he keeps falling asleep at crucial moments. It's really frustrating.

now that I think about it, my double rousing rings doing nothing to stop my peeps from sleeping problem was also in the pyramid if I recall correctly, might just be that it's the place with the highest concentration of snooze users though

Yes it looks like LUCK plays a bigger role than the accessories you equip. I would argue that the developer should consider adjusting this?

I have like a inventory of accessories I am keeping in case I run into enemies that keep paralyzing or sleeping or etc. my team. But, now it seems I might be better off ditching some of those for accessories that boost luck.

Have 1 LUCK boosting one and the other slot is what you want to stop such as sleep. Is this perhaps the best strat?

I have them equipped in the main slot as well and I still almost always fall asleep. The item appears to be broken / bugged.

Hyper's formula is correct, though it does fail to mention an important detail that your "resistance" used in the formula includes the innate miss rate of the spell. For example, the enemy's thwack has an innate 23% accuracy, which means it considers that 77% miss rate to be your character's "resistance" to it in the formula that is multiplied by luck. That means max luck resistance(120%+ base luck) reduces it to 8% accuracy while minimum luck resistance(80%- Base Luck) raises it to 38%.
Player Thwack is 50%, so I'd like to see a list of enemy-specific ailment chances, but assuming enemies use the same Snooze as players (60% chance),
  1. Then characters would have an innate 40% resistance to sleep. Multiplied by 0.8x or 1.2x depending on Luck for 32% or 48% resistance = 68% ~ 52% sleep chance.
  2. Add 6% x 2 Rousing Rings = 52% resistance.
  3. Multiplied by 0.8x or 1.2x depending on Luck for 41.6% or 61.4% resistance = 58.4% ~ 38.6% sleep chance.
Luck is pretty influential. Also get yourself Ortega's Helmet (50% sleep resistance) and Exotogas from post-game 110 mini medals or Steely Statues (40% sleep resistance).
