love the reviews that claim this is the best way to play, lmao. yeah 60 bucks for a decades old game made with modern politics in mind and censorship giving you a lesser and less faithful experience than years ago. this game is a disgrace and im glad its financially failing cause every time these games do maybe itll wake up square and other Japanese companies kowtowing to western sensibilities or urge japan to bring the hammer down and take away control from american idiots. not to mention altering toriyama's designs cause some skin showing is offensive is just spitting on his grave.

I mean to each their own, I think the best way to play is the NES or SNES version on my Miyoo mini, but that's because I can be cozy in bed. Some people might really enjoy the graphical style, don't yuck their yum.

Those changes weren't for western sensibilities, they were to get the age rating Square wanted for the titles, ya silly billy.

Those changes weren't for western sensibilities, they were to get the age rating Square wanted for the titles, ya silly billy.

they literally said in an interview it was to comply with western sensibilities, quote puritan culture. you should know what you are talking about it helps. square rushed to take said interview down cause then ignorant people like yourself might actually wake up to reality.

yes they did say that, but who do you think decides the age rating and what do you think drives them? thats the part you failed to gleam. which is why they specifically mentioned sensibilities and puritan culture. we watched the same but clearly only one of us actually understood it.

And I'm not saying it's right or wrong. Just that they didn't make these changes to align with the western sensibilities, but because of the allmighty dollar. They wanted to hit an age group target, and that's why they made the changes. It had nothing to do with 'sensibilities', it had to do with profit margin.

Are you also angry about the new 2.5D perspective, or the changes to the battle system, or the addition of voice acting? These are also alterations, as they weren't present in the original.

The classic game still exists. There's plenty of ways you can go back and play it. The presence of the remake doesn't obliterate the original, and if you prefer it, you're always welcome to play it.

so they mentioned it for no reason? if it had nothing to do with sensibilities then they would have no reason to mention it and to say puritan is even more specific.
