Realistically they seem to have more mixed opinions on 6 and 7 so I think they were more open to changes in the remake. DQ3, 4, and 5 are basically universally praised and are beloved as they are.
And the fact still stands that DQ8 came out before that remake. I think you'll find any future remakes of 6 or 7 change a lot more (maybe even 9 if they ever do it), while 3.4.5. and 8 will barely ever be changed from the classics that they are. I'm very unsure about what they'll do with DQ1 and 2. You could argue they're a bit too basic and tedious to not go unchanged in a remake.
this isnt new at all. and most series fans are perfectly fine with it.
I just love that we got unique sprites for in battle and holding weapons in battle before your turn. those look neat and werent needed.
