Denuvo + Censorship = Nope

When this remaster was announced, I was super excited. At worst, I figure Square would put Denuvo in this, and I'd just ignore the game for a year and then buy it on the first 35% or greater discount. But then the censorship drama happened and the creator of the series talked about how frustrating it was to have to censor his game and pretend like male and female body types dont exist for western audiences. In response, Square-Enix was quick to silence him and try to claim every video of said interview to save face... So now I'm certain I'll not be purchasing this game now or a year from now when Denuvo gets removed. Hope you find enough "Modern audience" simps to champion your censored garbage, Square.

there's a spectrum of so hamfisted and obnoxious it does actually impact my enjoyment of the game, like paper mario, vs its completely made up and reading in between the lines that people freak out over nothing.

they changed a couple of pixels on the female warrior sprite to make her wearing a bit more clothes, and when you choose your sex it is "type A / B " instead of man / woman

that is all it is. they are mad about some sexy pixels and one choice

You forgot about the Boss Troll's lips. I guess most people don't care since it doesn't affect their horny.

I was going to bring that up as well.

And furthermore, the A/B choice seems to be only a one time thing and the game uses gendered language still, even still has the female only equipment, with a guy that says something about only a woman being able to equip it. Even right after you pick A or B, it asks you if you're sure and tells you A is hero and B is heroine. So the censorship in that one menu option don't seem to make any sense, but it's there. And I'm just saying this for informational purposes. Obviously, you can decide if it matters or not.

It's on switch, it will be. If that is something you care about.

But that version will most likely have the same censorship you are concerned about.

Honestly I think it’s also due to the fact that you can choose between 8 body types, four male/appearance a and 4 female/appearance b
