Good place to grind? Getting wrecked mid game.
I am trying to get the 6 orbs and getting wrecked by the solo fight in Gaia. Is there a good area I can get stronger? Also the fight in Theddon is destroying me.

The first orb fight I ran into was the ghost town and got trounced fairly badly. After that I headed to the volcano zone and had decent luck with that. After beating that dungeon I went back to ghost town and won the fight from the extra levels. Solo dungeon was pretty easy for me post ghost town as well.

I did beat the dragon (twice) from the volcano if this is the zone you are talking about. There are 2 fire zones so you might be talking about the other one. Yea I just have these 3 left so it seems like that would be the best area to grind a bit.

Nah, I did mean the Orochi zone. The misasma dungeon on the eastern continent was pretty rough, but might be a good place for grinding before Gaia's navel. You will want to find the town of Manoza if you didn't beat that one yet.

Ah ok I did finish the Orochi zone. I am grinding through the Manoza cave bit by bit now and getting some xp. I need to warp out after a few mimic fights because my MP gets completely demolished. These fights are def a bit rough so after this I might go back to the Orachi cave.

The boss is really rough after imo, lol.

Yup I just learned that lol. The double hits really out damage what I can heal. Guess I'm stuck on all 3 fights in this case and need to level a bit. I really am not sure why I read so many times that this is one of the easier DQ games lol. Didn't have this many issues with the previous games.

You can grind metal slimes near the tower of Transcendence

My issue is I don't seem to have a reliable way of killing them. I am running mage, priest, and thief. Is there any way to guarantee a kill on these with this party?

I've found that battlegroups of 3 Metal Slimes + 3 Healslimes can be encountered around Olivia's Promontory, though it seems to only come out at night. I'm finding out the hard way that shenanigans like War Cry, Tongue Lashing/Bashing, and Sleep inducing Moves that work on them pretty well in DQM: The Dark Prince are NOT flying here. I'm also wondering about what can pierce their 'Metal Slime Defenses' in this game. I gotta Poison Needle but probably too much to hope it'd work, they've also been easily shrugging off Assassin's Stab... been meaning to test Pile On...

My Team is runnin Merchant (Love the extra Gold from Battles and researching how to abuse Dig now that I have it.), Thief (Love havin their help to find hidden Items, especially the more snarky obnoxious Mini Medals to nab Medal Rewards BEFORE they aren't useful anymore...), Monster Wrangler. (Many are sayin they aren't worth starting out with... i've not regretted doing so and having a way easier time getting those Monster Recruits done. Also Soothing Song and Emergency Groom have not disappointed me as a alternate survival plan to runnin a Priest Starter in combo with my Hero's Midheal.)

If your thief has hypnosis use that, they won’t damage each other but it might keep them fighting longer. Any multi hit moves/weapons like whips/boomerangs would also be good

I want to say I had more luck with whips on a thief than boomerang on the hero.

You can give everyone Poison Needles to farm metal slimes if you really don't have anything else. Thief's assassin slash or whatever it's called has a decent chance at instant death, maybe around 1 in 3. For the solo orb/australia dungeon you just need to buy the hero the best gear you can and a pair of asbestos earrings to further reduce fire damage. I don't think any of the monsters there could even hurt me above 1 damage.

Poison needle has the chance to one shot them, the Assassin's Stab move can do the same. Whips and Boomerangs can hit all of them for 1 damage, Critical hits will do regular damage killing them. Critical Claim will one shot them, some special weapons are set up to either Crit or miss but are late game items.

Near the volcano is a good spot but the enemies are pretty tough. Or you can just use fewer party members and get more experience that way and fight easier stuff.

North-east of were you find the echo flute there is a snow covered area right along the coast (part of the large land mass on the left side of the map)that spawn liquid metal slimes sometimes. It also helps to reduce your party size in order to maximize exp gain
