Changes seem modern and appropriate

I have read quite a lot of complaining about 'woke' crap in this game, and after some research, I wanted to clarify some of the changes and cut through the noise.

Localization seems pretty good. Male/female who cares? One of the characters is less skimpy dressed, and no crosses in it now which I guess might make christians upset.

Overall a lot of bellyaching from people who are mad about their own political opinions and don't actually care about games or their communities.

Pretty much nail on the head. They've all been convinced that the 'woke' is coming after them to destroy their games. The reality is they've all been conditioned to be triggered by anything that's even remotely progressive or socially concious.

There's even a term for it, 'woke spotting'. Similar to the 'Red Scare', if someone consumes a piece of media with the intent on finding a specific thing, they're going to find it, regardless of whether or not it's actually there.

Ironically enough crosses were removed from the originals cuz they would make Christians upset. So moral of the story being Christians will always be upset no matter what.

That's right, lookin thru your games you don't have many lgtbq+ games my friend, have you tried supporting a good cause like an lgtbq+ indie dev and not a behemoth like square?

I mean you can do both, I love Square games too like this dq3 with the hamfisted bodytype.

But I also support indie devs that make some truly fantastic gems.

As long as they're doing it not to censor straight stuff, subvert standards or for maliciously childish reasons like owning the chuds, sure, why not? We had lbgt stuff in games ever since 2000, the difference is how much more gracefully it was done back then.

tbh at times I think it depends on the writing in general. Take veilguard for example. It's writing is a 5/10 at best and that also translates to it's handling of other issues. Compare it to Overwatch with Tracer and Soldier 76 and it was handled much better cuz back then the game had good writing staff. Even Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Deliverance (or whatever that game is called) does it better.
