Lots of "game is too easy" takes on gamefaqs on release weekend then those takes all stopped coming in after they played past a certain point and now they complained about difficulty lol
I've kept to Draconian for the sake of seeing how that'll go. The key to the triple King Hydras is to spam Hypnowhip. If 2/3 stay confused, risk Persecutter. I got to the point where I was bringing 2 party members for extra EXP to the triple King fights.
Eh? The game points you to Jipang before getting the ship. Getting the Ultimate Key is one, two, three, four towns. And Manoza is the fourth or fifth most dangerous overworld before Baramos.
thanks, I'll give that a try. Somehow never occurred to me to check if they were susceptible to confusion. Until recently they usually got their turns before me, and they tend to go 3x each per round. My leveling through thief and martial artist classes on multiple characters ha snow turned that on its head. I have one guy who's even capped out agility now, so if I can take away their turn before they take away mine that's going to be really satisfying!
As soon you get the ship, there's a lighthouse literally 3 steps away. The remake also tells you to visit that lighthouse first. It's much closer than Jipang and they tell you to go there first, so you do.
In the lighthouse they tell you to sail south to Theddon, which is also like the closest location from that position.
In Theddon there's an old man who says "The first thing you should do is find the Ultimate Key that opens jail doors". They literally say まずは IE it's the first thing you should do. https://i.imgur.com/iQIVgQy.png
Granted, I checked the English version(I usually play in Japanese) and apparently they changed the phrasing which I was not aware of. In that translation he just talks about how you need the key to open the specific jail door in that specific town which is not what the original is trying to say. The game as it was written in the original language does tell you to get the Ultimate key first thing at least. Apparently the NES version's translation also mostly retains the original's intent, for what it's worth.
This guy is also apparently infamous for giving bad directions in the new English translation, heh.
