Why don't they offer an uncensored version?

I always wondered this. The assets are all there, it is a simple thing to just make it a 5 dollar DLC making it completely optional.

Why are western companies blocking that alternative?

The only theory I came up with is that giving players alternatives would be against their creed and their goal is really to force gamers to follow their moral code by giving them no choice in what they can and cannot purchase. Either accept the censorship or skip an otherwise great game.

Most of us (myself included) have been presuming there is a choice in the matter.

Perhaps, for extraordinary reasons nobody seems to agree upon, they really are being FORCED to censor the games.

Would you really want to spend 5 dollars for a few pixels and a super minor thing at the start? People would feel ripped off for 5 buck DLC just for that. Hell for that amount I'd want alternate costumes or extra Parchisi tickets instead.
