SteamDB atm shows no signs of a demo, but I will tag you here if I happen to see it pop up.
(I expect we probably won't see it on SteamDB until the AppID for the demo version is "attached" to the AppID for the main game, but there's good chance we already know about the demo by that point anyway xD )
i dont see them releasing the demo so close to romancing saga 2 remake release (or after), so this week is the most logical guess
Just to follow up, this "weekly update" was a complete nothing burger. Just selling DQ Merch -- https://vjump.shueisha.co.jp/dqnext/%e9%80%b1%e5%88%8a%e5%b0%91%e5%b9%b4%e3%83%89%e3%83%a9%e3%82%af%e3%82%a8%e3%80%80web%e3%80%80no-412
Next week's update is 10/21. These are sometimes DQ3 HD-2D related, so we might see something then.
I'm still cautiously optimistic. If there's still no demo a week from now, I'll start to believe that no demo is coming.
Going back and looking at past instances with DQ releases, we knew about Dragon Quest XI's demo about a week before it came out. That was mostly due to datamining PSN at the time. There is a website for PS5 games[prosperopatches.com], but it doesn't have any data on DQ3 HD-2D (or most other games), sadly.
The Title ID I was able to capture from PSN for DQ3 HD-2D was UP0082-PPSA20612_00-00000000000000NA-U001 , however, I believe more information is needed before we'd be able to pull any patch info.
Yeah, no demo in sight. Less than 3 weeks away from release now.
Gonna have to take the L on this one.
It seems so odd because there very clearly was a demo build that they prepared and had members of the media play at both PAX and Tokyo Game Show earlier this year.
But I guess that really shows their true colors. They don't care about the people, they care about the publicity.
How are people supposed to know if this game is good if they never have a chance to try it? Let alone plop down 60-80 dollars for a non-3D remake of a 35-year-old title that already has half a dozen ports.
I thought they had learned this lesson, but I guess not. Go Woke Go Broke
I don't think that the people in charge are maliciously hiding a demo from us because they "don't care about the people". I do think having a demo would be cool, but I think you're taking one thing and repurposing it to use as a tool to bolster your own opinions.
Your opinions are just as valid as mine, but to speak so authoritatively about a thing that is open to interpretation is just a little too much for me personally.
Yet those emulators have been around a long time. Nintendo has not shut them down. I have used them on and off for over 25 years.
What have you done?! 😂
