Job Swapping cheeses this game
I'm on Draconian Quest in the dark world and I'm just absolutely crushing enemies. Most of my party members have changed classes around 4 or 5 times, because it seems like doing so is almost always a net gain in stats. Right now one of my characters has around 150 in most of his stats and around 400 max HP and he's only around level 35.

He went Mage -> Warrior -> Priest -> Monster Hunter and I'm about to change him to Sage once he learns the final skill in the Monster Hunter class.

I beat Baramos on my second try. I struggled more with the gargoyle at the volcano than I did with baramos, simply because with the gargoyle you can get unlucky if he chooses to use Inferno twice in a single turn.

It's crazy how unbalanced class changes are. I'm thinking I'll need all of these extra stats to be able to get past the bonus dungeons, but I wonder if I'll end up easily beating them too.

who would have thought that extreme overleveling would make the game easy

yeah cause repeatedly changing classes at around lvl 20-25 which only takes about 30k XP is definitely extreme overlevelling

looking at your character admittedly while you are having high stats you are missing out on a few notable skills if your reclassing between lv 20-25 at first it might become a breeze but if your doing postgame stats alone may not cut it. mage/priest never want to be a sage at all since they learn half of what sage learns anyway and they won't gain much out of it in fact mage has slightly better stats than sage with the only clear advantage of sage is both priest + mage spells so it's not as unbalanced as you might think

I did some math. Gadabout to Priest (highest Level 20 total stats to lowest Level 20 stats) and then change again is strong. Thief 20 to Warrior 20 and then out is still great Agility. That 53% stat retention instead of 50% is reassuring, but not as much as having a great personality.

You're both right - job class changing is cheesing because it does make you over-leveled. The 30k exp part doesn't really matter - you gained 95 levels of stats. Even with halving 60 levels, you're still way ahead of a single class characters who are at level 40, when you can reasonably beat Zoma. The standard game is going to be too easy for you. If I play only to Zoma, I limit myself to one class change for this reason.

But your instinct that you'll need the extra stats for the bonus dungeon is absolutely correct (though I may have gone to higher levels for certain skills before class changing). You need far better stats and skill variety for the post-game - it is a grind. It just makes the standard game up to Zoma super easy.

I took all my jobs to 99 before swapping, and they all leveled all jobs. By time time it was to seed farm. Most ststs were 750 to 900. On all 3 toons.

Yeah and I have done no extra grinding whatsoever, and I'm still overpowered just from doing class changes frequently. Hence why I say its a cheese.

most of these classes get their best skills at level 40+ though. and reaching them takes more time but slightly lower stats.

thus its actually better to commit to longer levelling instead of swapping constantly and having no good skills. like sure you hit hard, but you dont have any of the OP end game skills to utilize the stats.

ill just say the end game is likely gonna wreck you. baramos is a cakewalk compared on whats to come.

Which skills are those? Blink and a L1 character is at half or more the levels of everyone else in your party.
