War Drum (AoE Oomph item) + Wild Side + Falcon Blades (Merchant, Thief, Sage) + Persecutter is how you 2 turn Xenlon and 3 turn Grand Dragon, assuming you are at the 850 Attack maximum.

Duplic Hat (Mage, Sage, Gadabout) double casts all your spells to Fuddle or Snooze every boss in the game, sextuple/triple stack Ka/Sap (1.25x, 1.35x, 1.45x, 1.6x, 1.7x, 1.8x), or Kaboom for most encounters.
Every class but Hero, Warrior, and Martial Artist can equip the Goddess Shield for 25% magic and breath resistance.
Exotogas (Martial Artist, Priest, Sage, Thief, Monster Wrangler) acquired at 110/110 mini medals and farmed from Steely Statues in the Claw/Boomerang trial (0.5%) is 25% magic resistance and 40% sleep/paralysis/poison resistance, the best in the game when accessories are so ineffectual.
You'll still want Banishing Bells for Sap, sleep, and frighten resistance.
Only issue is that Priest/Sage can't equip Claws/Boomerangs while Thieves can't equip Axes/Staves for those post-game trials, but my final team comp was 2 Sages & 2 Thieves (3 Sages with the Aid an Adventurer mechanic).
And benching your Hero because they can't do any of the above.
