Oversensitive
Ive had some problems with the game being ultra sensitive with my input from my left joy stick. I think it might have a slight drift, but alot of times my guy would just start walking in a random direction without me touching the controller.
I've fixed this issue by enabling steam controller overlay and increasing thee no-input deadzone by quite alot. I dont have this problem with any other game but DQ3, has anyone else had this issue?

I've had the same issue bu t is seems only sporadic, 90% oft the time it's fine but once in awhile my character just kind of runs off. I'm glad it's not just me because I also thought I had a drift issue.

you may be suffering from stick drift.
you will either have to find some way to replace your thumbstick or get a whole new controller.

that sounds like stick drift for sure, havent had it happen to me at all with 2 different controllers that I can confirm do not have any drift.

Yeah, it did that for a while as well. But now that ive gotten all 6 orbs it started doing it alot, Increasing the dead zone seems to have fixed it though.
Also idk why they made moving the joystick continue dialogue instead of just making it the A button like about every other RPG ever made lol

Not sure about other controllers, but this is normal if you're using DualSense, since the game has no native PS controller support. A simple fix would be to increase the deadzone in Steam Controller settings.

Most of the time it's just some tiny dirt stuck beneath the analog stick.

I did this when stick drift happened on my 3-year-old DualSense.
  1. Press your palm on the analog stick until you hear a click sound from the L3/R3 button.
  2. Then gently rotate the analog clockwise for about 30 seconds.
  3. Repeat with anticlockwise.

Well, i changed my bluetooth dongle from a USB 2.0 slot to a USB 3.0 thunderbolt slot and now i dont need the dead zone at all, i guess the game was getting false inputs from a bad BT connection??
Still strange that this has been the only game i have had this issue on
