does anybody know where famine is?

i'm following a guide to find all the friendly monsters and one of them is a mimic called famine. this is the video here

like it shows where its at in this video but when i go to that same place nothings there
and i checked with Monty and it shows i don't have him yet so i'm wondering whats going on.

Have you checked during all the different times of day? Many monsters can only be found at dawn, day, dusk or night, and I've found a lot of the info on the times is inconsistent.

I found a lot of dusk-only monsters. Wish I kept better notes but I think the mimic is one of them. Never found a single dawn-specific one though. I'd love it if the time changing spell had a dusk option.

Yeah i came back during day and niht and nothing.
also i have a monster wrangler with me and using the animal instinct skill it would tell me if a monster is nearby even if it wasn't there, but using the skill there tells me there are no monsters nearby.

so i'm really stumped

Go to the Necrogond and use Animal Instinct to make sure you got the first Mimic

Then you've got that one. Note that monster names are given out not to specific monsters of each species, but on a first-come first-serve basis. You may have caught them in a different order and so the naming order is off. Check for any other spots that specific species is located.

Ok famine was there. Thank you for leading me there cause i could have sworn i found a monster there already but i guess that place held two monsters at the same time.
