There's basically 4 spots.
- To the northwest in Alefgard's ocean, there are two islands above Talontear Tunnel. The smaller one on the right is a Slime Hill with the best odds of 8 Liquid Metal Slimes (6.3% / 25%, 49,848 EXP / 4 party members = 12,462 each) simultaneously, but the average encounter EXP otherwise is only 300 or so.
- Tower of Rubiss 5F has a chance of 6 LMS (4.6% / 24.1%) but enemies averaging 1000 EXP in addition.
- Zoma's Citadel 1F has a chance of 4 LMS (9.9%) but enemies are probably 2000 EXP.
- When you get into post-game, the 3rd lava area of ??? is the only other place with 8 LMS (6% / 28.2%). You can fight up to 1 or 3 King Hydras here, which are equally as lucrative (97,600 EXP / 4 members = 24400).
After clearing ??? and Citadel Tower's boss, you can unlock Jipang's monster arena that gives you a second Meteorite Bracelet to actually outspeed them (~750 Agility).Monk's Critical Claim for a guaranteed critical is Lv. 47 ~ 49 and 1,436,723 ~ 1,558,413 ~ ??? EXP, so pretty late.
Warrior does get Metal Slash at Lv. 39 ~ 41 (527,282 EXP ~ 596,766 ~ 674,936 EXP), but they'd have to reclass to a Merchant, Thief, or Sage to equip a Falcon Blade.
Martial Artists do have the highest critical rate ceiling of 30% based on Level and Luck, but the most practical is Hero due to being able to equip the Metal Wing Boomerang with a ceiling of 15%.
Sage/Mage's Puff! spell to OHKO them with a breath is unreliable since the dragon form tanks your speed on the following turn, giving them 2 chances to flee.
In the postgame, you can hunt Hydra Kings for 18K a pop and they don't run. They aren't too bad if you give everyone Rousing Rings and have somebody spamming Wild Side + Monster Pile-On.
