You would have to dig up the manual for the NES or GBC version of the game. No more physical manuals are provided for video games. Heck, no more physical strategy guides as well thanks to the Internet.

One thing you can do is look up Fanzine / Fan websites of Dragon Quest 3. Those websites have a ton of helpful guides and how-tos and info. Much of what you would expect to see in a Manual can be found on a solid Fan Site.

Also, the Traveler's Tips in the menu are actually great. I'm always referencing them to read about the personalities. That's as close to an up-to-date manual as you can get.

I have no idea what was about to be said, but under Misc. on the menu in game, it has Traveler's Tips. And keyboard config is under system settings, if you're looking for that, tab is menu, and space is confirm. Movement is WASD and backspace I think is cancel. That should get you far enough to open keyboard config. If you have a controller, I'd recommend using it though.

You can search for a walkthrough on the internet, although I doubt there's a complete guide for this version at the moment.

If you're in no rush to beat the game, you can wait until someone writes one.
