second: if you realy complain and want not to buy this game, spamming this forum even more with this nonsense BECAUSE OF A SMALL THING then you were NEVER goin to buy this game anyways
Much like how a certain symbol has been tainted by a certain regime, the name Isis has kinda been besmirched as well.
Mods: proceed to suspend him for calling out their bs.
I can't really say I expected anything else.
That's a stupid argument. Why not then remove the verb trump, or better why not remove the entire scientific reality of binary sex in videogames, because some very minuscule cry babies can't handle the truth. Let's sanitize everything to the lowest common denominator and devoid it of any soul or edge. Keep in my, those are the same people who glorify diversity and inclusion, but now a real Egyptian goddess name is controversial.
Personally, I have no respect for developers who don't stand by their legacy in the hope of cuddling some weirdos, same goes for anime and movies.
At least, there still some developers who still, more or less, have some balls like Kamiya, Tetsuya Takahashi, Suda51 or even Masaru Oyamada.
The original mind behind the game gave the city the name Isis for a reason, and any change undermines any artistic or narrative integrity. Which is a crucial element for me and many people.
It's boggling how many people are defending this vandalism, especially from the self proclaimed og players.
For the smooth brains that are dismissing the issue as a minor change. If it's minor, why did they spend time and effort addressing it. If they're so stressed about this, imagine what other changes were mandated to new games and storylines.
At the end, you do you, if you want to reward their censorship.
Lol bro it is a very minor change. Just stop
What was the narrative significance of that name in the original? Obviously it was meant to be en Egyptian reference (which Ibis is also), but the game never builds on the goddess Isis in any thematic way. We have no idea why the devs chose that name (could have just thought it sounded cool), so why be so protective of this particular thing? Especially since Isis now has a much different connotation, and that area of the world map is still the Middle East/North Africa.
It's always the creator's fault giving the fouls on the internet power by accommodating their tastes. A lot of people know about the goddess Isis (especially the target audience who's mainly the og players), and the sane people who don't will look it up without being stressed. The same goes with the stupid body type discourse. We all know that it's bs, nevertheless we should be acting stupid to cater to a tiny minority who lost any touch with reality. Most people are decent and understanding, but giving up to tweets will only get things worst as their demands get more absurd with each compromise. The thing that will leave us with boring and wooden games with zero personality and edge.
It's only the creators fault who didn't stand by their vision and lost any understanding of their core audience. Blaming tweets will never solve the issue and will make it even worse.
This is in regards to ISIS and terrorists, as that is a very obviously mainstream thing that people overreact to and hate much like nazis. Things are a bit different if we're talking about the Type A and Type B thing. I can't begin to talk about that one because I'm not in a position to understand it myself.
