Yuji Horii is still alive as far as I know.

The first basic attribute to define in the main Character Creation window is Name, followed by the "Body Type" option, in which the sex of your character is chosen. This is done by selecting between two options: "Type A" (Male) and "Type B" (Female).

We ALL know what type A/B are, and we specify in the online encyclopedia what genders they refer to. So it's beyond stupid to use different words from the ones normal human beings use in actual conversation. No one would ever say "type A/B" in real life, so why are we doing it in games?

Not to defend Baldur's Gate 3, but at least they had 4 different body types. Elden Ring and this game have two that are clearly male and female, but the developers simply refuse to use proper terminology to describe them.

As someone who’s right leaning. To be technical the words are just changed. But it’s still Male or Female. It doesn’t change anything gameplay and story wise.

That being said it’s a stupid minor little change when there was no actual problem with calling the options Male and Female.

This game is still going to be amazing when it comes to everything else I wish I could be playing it sooner lol.

^this about sums up my feelings. This A/B nonsense was totally unnecessary, benefits nobody, and makes the customization options vague and unclear.

BUT, I still anticipate it's going to be a good game. I haven't replayed DQ3 in a few years in anticipation of this release and I fully expect it will be the definitive version of one of the best RPGs of all time.

I have notified members of the Yggdrasil Modding Community[sites.google.com]. Several have taken interest. Rest assured someone will be up to the task.

Buying the game and modding it still buys the game and sends the message you want this dei esg gender erasing crap.
Thus they will continue. The solution is to not buy it. Don't even buy the phone remakes, they changed those too recently to be in line with this stuff.
Play the new via cart or rom, don't give them a red cent.
You give them this inch, they'll take the whole field.
