AND
3 is the first game in the trilogy timeline wise.
3 leads to 1 which leads to 2.
A proper sale on Heroes 1 and 2 and builders 2 would also be nice
Weird decision, DQ3 being a prequel was supposed to be a late game surprise twist. The trilogy was created with the intention that people played them in numeric order.
Snake Eater is a prequel to MGS 1&2, The Sims 3 is a chronological prequel to some events from the first two, Zelda 3 (A Link to the Past) is a prequel to Zelda 1&2 and so on...
DQ2 isn't as primitive, but it was blatantly unfinished, especially in the Japanese release. Like "one third of party members just stop getting new equipment not too long into the game" levels unfinished.
If they were going to choose just one DQ game to remake in this style, it would have to be 3.
