Yeah I made 2 rides, the first one I had no trouble with, flat on the ground perfect; the second one for whatever reason decided to spawn in above the ground (Even when the blue highlight mode showed it was flat on the ground), which at the time I didn't notice and finished my ride without knowing. I also am buliding my themepark on a flat sanbox level so there shouldn't be an difference in the land high. Not sure if this information will help but with some ride (like the helter skelter thing in the junior rides section) if I press ALT, The ride seems to drop down abit so it is level on the ground even though it looks level already. The problem is this doesn't work with all rides so it isn't a long term solution.
And if it happens with every ride, when you're placing the ride hold shift and move the mouse down to see if it fixes it. It seems like sometimes if you do that for one ride it will default to it for awhile...
I don't know if I'm honored or offended?
That page also answers the question several times...
