RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum!

Music cuts off at certain zooms
I know this is a feature, where when you zoom really close to the park you can hear the individual ride music and the people walking and such, and as you zoom out of the park those sounds quiet down and transition into the gameplay music when you're zoomed really far out.

The problem is that the music is TOTALLY QUIET, and you can't hear ANYTHING ELSE either, right at the PERFECT distance to build and keep an eye on things. I'm talking at about the 50% point between all the way zoomed in and all the way out, right where you're close enough to see the detail and build nicely but just far enough to see the whole coaster you're making as well as a few surrounding attractions. Right there, where it's comfortable, is also where it's the most quiet and feels like the game has no volume. Where the BGM starts playing is simply too damn far away/high above the park to work comfortably, so it makes no sense to put it there - and why is there even a "dead zone" where it's quiet anyway?

Is there a way to make the game's music STAY ON even when you zoom in? It feels so empty and boring when there's no BGM at certain zoom distances man, not sure why the hell they thought this was a good idea, to have such a huge "dead zone" right at the perfect zoom distance.

I just started playing this and noticed the same thing. If there's no way to change the dead zone, I'll probably just mute the game and turn on my own music.

Same Problem, anithing new about this?
still nothing, eh? it makes it hurt to play because the BGM matches so well and is actually really enjoyable. not as good as classic RCT 1 music, but still very well made.

I just got the game and noticed the sound "dead zone" right away. Came to the internet looking for a solution but had no luck finding one. Anyone ever find a way to adjust/fix this issue?
Not yet, unfortunately. I, like you, expected many with the same issue and thus a fix but there's nothing.

Now, don't take this the wrong way, I don't see anyone specifying they did it...

Did you look in the audio settings? The lower the music is, the sooner it fades as you zoom out. Is this the case? Or is it like total silence? Without music you should be able to hear a "wind-like" sound and maybe some birds.

I did something else to work around this issue. I went to my steam library -> Right clicked RC3 -> Clicked "properties" -> Hit the "Local files" tab -> Hit "BROWSE LOCAL FILES..." -> Opened the "Music" folder -> Opened all the music files in VLC media player -> Mute in-game music -> Success!

I noticed the same thing. Only when I'm zoomed out on the park am I hearing any music, or when I ride a ride then I hear that rides music. I'm playing with the mac version
