what is the difference between OVL files and TRK files? Trying to down load different track files from the past but, they are not TRK files but OVL files. Do I need to convert them some way?

I believe if you want to download a coaster blueprint you go to your documents folder then to rct3 and then to coasters where you put the .trk files in. OVLs are usually for scenery items and such.

Hey ive been playing RCT3 for years- since near release. Ive never dabbled in mods but im looking to do so now- how can i download them on mac? ive looked through tutorials but i cant seem to find the right folders to install mods into. When i open package contents i only have MacOS and resources folders, both of which have no subfolders. Any tips?

Hello. I've been playing this game for years, it is very much my childhood. I don't own the Steam version, only a physical copy. I have decided that I want to mod my game. The problem is, I don't know what mods to install. I'm not all that interested in custom scenery, I am more interested in custom rides and coaster models, such as an RMC model. I've tried Planet Coaster, but I found it confusing. over whelming, and hard to make coasters in it. Does anyone know of any of these mods?

Look for the folder that carries *.trk that is where to put your new rides.

Do you have soaked and zoo installed? If you just have the base game these rides may or may not work. So one place you can go to is this guy who does awsome custom flat rides, ride skins, etc. Make sure you read the description and see if you need base items or download mods for a particular ride to work: I've done the fantasy haunted house before, bit of work to get started but was really worth it. If you have a file that needs a certain track first, download and install it before the ride as some rides might crash the game. Some don't require any additions at all.

There's always customscenerydepot and there are lots of flat ride and custom track rides like the new 'StarFlyer' by francescoaster. Revolutionary Rides and others also have some amazing stuff. Not bad for an old geezer of a game :)

Has there ever been a mod that makes exits and entrances allow building paths at 90 degrees? I love the game, but for YEARS it's always annoyed me that I need to place and build rides with so many tiles around just to make space for those entrance/exit paths...

I think, screw that game go play Planet Coaster instead, its made by the same devs as RTC3 and has waaaay more features and support.

Planet Coaster was good. Right up until an after launch patch that added Denuvo. And then there's the horrible DLC practices that have been included. I'll stick with RCT3 thanks.

Anyone know a place to get the NYR Diner Booths?

I have planet Coaster and it is great graphics but much more complicated than RCT3. I just find simplification much easier.
