Patch for Gold Edition?

I'm not sure if any of you would have a solution to this since you all probably own the game and play it through Steam. But I have a physical copy of the Gold edition (no Wild expansion), and ever since I bought it 8 years ago, I have had insane lag at night. I know this is a common issue, but back then I just figured it was just because it was a poorly optimized game that will run fine on later-generation computer equipment. Definitely not the case. I have an FX-8350 and an r9 270 with 8gb of 1600MHz memory and still get about 3-5 fps at night. I've seen in other forums from google searching that the final patch improved night time performance. But the problem is, that patch is only for Platinum. I'm assuming the patch is probably automatically implemented through Steam, so I doubt any of you would know this, but is there a patch for the Gold edition? I've had this game for the better part of a decade, but the performance has always been so god awful that I've never been able to really get in to it.

I will say the convenience of having the game on steam is worth the 8$ or so for the game when it goes on sale, also bonus since you dont have the Wild! expansion on disc.

THANK YOU! They sure make that a challenge to find. Worked perfectly. And yes, I agree. I will more than likely purchase it on Steam the next time it goes on sale. Although, I'm not quite sure what the Wild expansion even adds.

You can build a zoo! Even tranquilize animals from a helicopter. The Wild expansion is pretty good, nice to be able to utilize it in the regular campaign.
