Clicking Glitch (RESOLVED)

I played this game frequently for 5 months, then my mouse suddenly stopped working and I couldn't click anything, but I could still move my cursor. Everything was moving. I closed the game then turned it back on, and I couldn't click anything in the main menu.Then I took a break for a month, and now I'm back, and the glitch is still there. When I load up the game, everything is normal, the logos show, they are animated, everything is normal. Then I get to the main menu, everything is normal, the music plays, the pictures change, I can move my cursor, except I can't click on anything. My cursor is my default windows cursor and when I put it over something I would usually be able to click, It doesn't change. It stays the same and I can't click on anything. I've tried every button in the main menu, but I can't get past it. My mouse is plugged in, I can click on anything that isn't in the game. I want help, please.

tl;dr I can't click on anything, I can still move my mouse, my mouse is plugged in, and I can click on anything that isn't in the game.

Edit: I've looked everywhere online and literally NO ONE had or is having the same problem I'm having. I reinstalled it and It still doesn't work, I only lost all of my progress and I cried for 10 minutes straight.

I am using Windows 7 on an Asus Laptop.

-try running it in Admin mode.
-check your antivirus settings and exclusions
-check your mouse driver software and/or try another mouse and different applications
-verify file integrity via steam

right click on the rct3plus.exe then properties-compatibility tab-settings-run as administrator

you can also try the compatibility settings and see if any of the choices work in your case if nothing else

now, i dont see compatibility or settings so i don't know how to make it run as admin. what can i do?
