Just some questions, issues etc.
I wanted to address a few issues, opinions and question about the game, things that I don't fully understand. If some of these issues are just my fault for not reading something or were already answered somewhere I apologize in front.

1. Does the starter ship choice actually make a difference? I know in the previous games if you took the science vessel your mission focused on gathering artifacts. Is this now excluded? I mean if the mission is basically the same what's the point of having different ships, the corvette is obviously the best choice (since science is basically a cargo ship and scout is just lower tier) ? Besides if you play science or scout you're going to eventually upgrade to destroyer, frigate or something else for max points. Maybe I'm missing something. I hope someone can enlighten me.

2. I've noticed there are some passengers that don't really have a purpose and you can't trade them life Smetlov's Brain and Phredd. Do these in any way increase your overall score or have any function? Also a reference to the previous question. How do square (artifacts) items like the Neon Mantis or Fuzzy Lummox influence the game score, or is their only purpose trade for weapons, shields etc.?

3. Is it just me or is the hyperdrive extremely nerfed (opposed to the second game). I've found I only use it If I have to jump to the other side of the galaxy, other than that it has no function whatsoever. I use it in one out of 20 games for that purpose, although maybe it's just me.

4. What are good ways to increase the end score? I mean tips and such. Does returning to worlds and fighting again increase your score? Do you get more points for ending the game early? Do things in your hangar increase your score? I’m generally not fully clear on how the end score calculator works.

5. I’ve noticed when you defeat Primordius you get credits back on Glory, 1000 I think. I this doesn’t seem to be the case you beat the pirates in that scenario. I don’t know how it works for other missions since I haven’t actually survived the Kawangi, and didn't check in the other missions. This brings me to my next question.

6. Has anyone successfully defeated the Kawangi in combat. They wreck me like a cardboard box. I have defeated them with the Limited Vaccum Collapser but I usually blow myself up or set the time for too long so they escape. Any tips on how to correctly calculate the Vaccum Collapser?

7. Is there any interest in starting a wiki of some sort for addressing issues similar to these? I’m sure a few people would be willing to help with it. Or not?

I've been wondering about some of these myself.

I can definitely attest to #3, the hyperdrive being nerfed. In Weird Worlds, it took a few months to recharge between jumps, now it takes a whole year. I think this is good, though. In WW, it was basically an automatic I-win button.

There's been some talk of a wiki on another thread, but nothing concrete. I don't have answers to your other questions, unfortunately.
