Weather reports?
Lately, it seems there's never any ATIS available in the areas I am flying (all around the world). I'm often wanting to get the pressure readings (pre-flight and during flight) so I can properly set my altimeter, but I can't seem to locate any source of ATIS.

From my (real world) flight books, I see that there's other sources of weather reports and pressure readings... yet I usually don't see any of those in my travels, either.

Is there some source I'm not aware of, that is fairly common while in flight?

You can check the METAR of the airport you’re at and nearby airports as you fly along (not all airports have this ability). If you have Active Sky you can tune 122.0 and it will give you a report of the nearest airport that has a weather station.

I haven't had this issue, but I've only flown US. I think you can get it from the map in game though.

Hi, guys. Ya, it seems if you get airport info from the map, you often (always?) have access to the pressure reading. Good to know. Odd, though, that it seems so many airports don't seem to have ATIS, or some frequency you can listen in on to get that kind of info (plus weather).

I ask really for two reasons... knowing the risk of icing, and to properly set the altimeter...which has seemed really off the charts lately (in my DC-3). Even though I set the mercury setting correctly, I'm getting what seems to be incredibly inaccurate altitude readings... like off by thousands. Not sure what the deal is there... I know that it can get affected by air temperature, but this seems excessive.

Not all airports have a means of giving you weather, sometimes you simply have to get it from the closest airport that offers such information. For example my local airport in reality doesn't have it's own ASOS/AWOS/ATIS, if you want information on the weather you need to get it from the airport six miles to the northeast. If you're on the ground you would simply set your altimeter to field elevation and look at what the windsock is doing.

Ya, that was the odd thing, I was searching the whole area, and was surprised that it SEEMED like there was no weather info available anywhere... That's why I figured maybe there was something I was misunderstanding or missing. The map thing certainly seems a good resource.
