Give us an update on it and how it affects the fps please.
My thoughts are:
If you've already got high ZL ortho and GB Pro, consider the purchase carefully. You'll get lower resolution ortho, but more appropriate auto gen objects and placement. It also seems to run better with more objects. Colouration is good, possibly a little too light especially on the beaches. Of course the tiles are nicely masked as well, so the coast looks quite nice (cliff textures are mostly wrong all around Cornwall though).
I don't have ortho scenery. Too much trouble for me and I don't want to purchase more hard drive space at the present time. I also don't like ortho because it doesn't work with my TerraMaxx which generates seasonal textures. I suspected that this ORBX scenery would not work with it either and confirmed that a little while ago. One of the big let downs is the lack of seasons in XP11 (at lease for me).
To get descent fps with the ORBX scenery I have turned xEnviro off and am using the default XP11 weather. With xEnviro on I am getting about 22-25 fps. Unfortunately the haze created by the default weather ruins the scenery, makes everything fuzzy. I like the level of detail in the scenery and the terrain is more natural than the default XP11 scenery.
So overall I am very satisfied with how the scenery looks compared to the default scenery. Since the scenery is a bit pricey, in the future I will wait for it to go on sale before making any future purchases. For me the cost is too high for the amount of scenery you get compared to FTX scenery for FSX. But then again with FSX you have to purchase Vector, Open LC for your area and then specialized scenery like the True Earth Great Britain South. So it may be awash.
Now all I need to do is wait for xEnviro to eventually provide seasonal textures (which is supposed to work on all scenery, even ortho). In the mean time if I want to fly in this scenery area in Winter I will have to disable it in xOrganizer.
I would be interested in hearing how much disk space the equivalent textures would take up using ortho compared to the 126.37G of disk space required for the ORBX scenery.
Also some of the problems people are reporting are due to incorrect scenery order. At first I thought London was poor because I had very blocky generic objects where landmarks should be but once I sorted out the order everything was correct and looking awesome.
Pricing is no different to FTX England, Scotland & Wales, they're just splitting GB up differently this time. I'm happy that it'll be covering the IOM also.
