X-Plane 11

X-Plane 11

Andy May 8, 2021 @ 7:20pm
I deleted my custom Scenery.ini File (INI).
I added scenery to my custom scenery folder and after starting X-Plane to reset the (INI) I noticed that in the (INI) the new scenery did not populate to the top like normal. So while watching a video on how to install new scenery. In that video it was mentioned TO DELETE THE (INI) THEN RESTART X-PLANE. I DID ::FACEPALM:: I then restarted X-Plane thinking it will regenerate what I had and to my surprise it did not. Is there anything I can do to get my (INI) back? Thank you in advance.

I just checked my custom scenery folder to see if there is a backup for the scenery_packs.ini file. I didn't find one. if you deleted the file it should be in your recycle bin unless you emptied that. If it's there you can restore it. Could also be that all you need to do is start X Plane 11 again and see if it will create the ini file for you. I believe it should. You could also if you can't restore the file and if X Plane 11 continues to not create a scenery_packs.ini file, verify game files and see if that would download a scenery_packs.ini file. I don't manually do anything with mine. I use xOrganizer to organize my scenery and plugins and let it do the adjustments to the ini files. Makes life a lot easier.

Thank you, IT WAS IN MY RECYCLE BIN. I did a manual search for the ini file and did not find it, but I did not use the search like an idiot. Also where can I find this xOrganizer?

Hey I thought so too, but It doesn't. Also I just tried to reopen X-Plane and see if the update is show with the new scenery and it still does not regenerate. Is there a way i can get it back regenerating?

Have you tried verifying game files? Perhaps there is some corruption in your X Plane 11 installation and verifying game files should fix that.

Just to confirm I did a test and renamed my scenery_packs.ini file and started X Plane 11.53 and it did create a new scenery_packs.ini file. Question. Where are you looking for your scenery_packs.ini file? It's in the custom scenery folder.

Yes in my Custom Scenery folder, It's my last file. Is there a way to verify my game files?

In your steam library right click on x plane 11, select properties, local files then verify integrity of game files.
