Why does literally EVERYTHING cost money... Don't get me wrong, I know people want their hard earned money, but its kind of getting ridiculous. I cant even get just 1 extra plane. An A320 at least? But no, if you want it, pay 80+ dollars. Want a "follow me" truck? Pay the 80+ dollars. Want a livery? Pay the 80+ dollars. Want an actual ground crew? Pay the damn money and stop asking >:(

The issue with what you are saying can be answered with the age old statement, "you get what you pay for". I was making a statement a long time ago "Why can't I get something good for nothing?" And then I realized that was what I was getting. I was getting something that was good for nothing. Or to put it another way not good for anything.

Now on the other hand there are some excellent aircraft out there which cost nothing. For instance the Zibo 737. And there is the 737 NG in the works on Threshold. But I haven't found any free Airbuses. Maybe sometime in the future but unfortunately not right now.

But here is a question for you. It is one thing to want a small, simple GA aircraft for free. But there is a lot of work involved in putting together an airliner. I would estimate thousands of hours by multiple people. Fortunately there are some very talented flight sim enthusiasts willing to put in that effort as is demonstrated by the Zibo and the upcoming 737 NG.

The flight sim industry has always been about the payware addons that become available. Many are excellent and worth the money. Many are garbage. The default aircraft that come with X Plane 11 are very good and people have put out enhancements for them for free. But there comes a time when you will have to eventually pay for something that goes above and beyond the default aircraft and scenery that come with any flight simulator.

If it bothers you that much having to pay for addons for a flight simulator I would suggest giving up flight simming and stick with standard video games. I have spent thousands on each of my flight simulators and I have four. Fortunately most of the addons for FSX worked with P3D.

I did a quick search for free A320 for X Plane 11 and found the following link:

There is one A321 and two A330 airbuses that are free. I downloaded and installed them and they look like the old X Plane 10 aircraft. Very basic but nowhere near the quality of the Zibo 737 which is payware quality.

Yea, i know people don't like giving out their work for free. I'm just saying that most of it is overpriced especially when some of these aircraft's and scripts are mediocre.

It really is, like lets say Toliss has 25 devs all making the a321. And lets just say it cost 1500 hours to make. They are all getting paid 12 euros an hour, and they work 5 days a week. They are also working 9 hours a day. Each dev would need to spend 60 hours to make the toliss a321. That means toliss needs to spend 18000 euros on devs wages for the Toliss a321. Which means toliss needs to sell 225 to break even, and the rest are either profits or to the other employees....

It seems to be more something specific to this overall genre (realistic transportation sims, I guess you can call them) than just specifically X-Plane. Train enthusiasts have even more sore wallets than aviation enthusiasts do on this front, for sure.

Go for MSFS or P3D but X-Plane 11 is only good for Helicopters, the rest are over priced add-on's, also some ORBX add-on's not work as supposed, like HD Trees. And the in game trees looks like from 2000. But the Helicopter physics they are the best after DCS Helicopters.
