X-Plane 11

X-Plane 11

A big question mark.
I downloaded and installed some new liveries from XPLANE.ORG, the installations were all successful, someone can tell me why when I go to look at them in the simulator list you don't see the new livery with the model of the plane but does a big question mark appear? Did I do something wrong in the download? Thank you.

No it might be that the mod creator did not include a thumbnail. Try loading it and see if it works

A question mark is shown if the livery does not include the necessary thumbnail for X Plane 11. You can try regenerating icons for the aircraft. With the aircraft loaded into a flight select the developer pull down and select regenerate icons for the current aircraft. Sometimes that will work. If it doesn't then the livery is not compatible with X-Plane 11.

Yes, everything works, only the thumbnail is missing, but this is not a problem, I was just afraid it was my mistake for this I was a little worried, thanks for your answer.

JOHN W, can I ask you for some advice? Is "regenerating the current aircraft icon" a painless operation or if it fails, do I risk losing the new liveries? Sorry if I ask you this question but I am very clumsy for this kind of maneuver ... I'm afraid of causing some trouble, ... so, I select a thumbnail marked with a question mark then I open the developer curtain and click on (regenerate the icon of the current aircraft) ... then how should I proceed? ... (between default and downloaded I have a list of 34 liveries) do I have to pass them all? THANK YOU for your possible answer.

It will regenerate new icons for all liveries for that aircraft. So for example I have an aircraft that has some custom icons for some of the liveries. To protect those images from being changed I would need to move those liveries out of the aircraft folder, then generate the icons for those liveries that have a question mark on them, and then move the other liveries back under the aircraft.

I performed the regeneration of the aircraft, once clicked automatically it started the regeneration of all the aircraft in the list, at the end of the cycle I was able to see with my great happiness that instead of the question marks there were the miniatures of the aircraft, each with its own livery, .... only one was not successful in fact its livery was not the one I had downloaded, but the default one of American Airlines, .... I tried to make a second regeneration lap but i didn't solve the problem, at that point not knowing how to solve the problem i decided to eliminate that livery. anyway i am very happy now i have many different lvree all with their own beautiful miniatures. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
