How to install Global Scenery?

Hello all - I've downloaded X Plane 11 and got it running just fine, but I want to install the free "Global Scenery - Europe" DLC.

When I go to the store page and click install, it just launches X-Plane and takes me to the main menu with Resume Flight, New Flight, etc.

Can someone help me out here? It definitely hasn't downloaded and installed in that time, as the store page states it'll be around 20GB and the whole X-Plane install so far has only been 5.4GB.

I think 20 GB is with XP and them all installed. Simple way to figure this out is go to like EGLL, do you see water around you or land?

Just water! I think the 5.4GB is just the base game, it should be around 20GB or so with the base game + Europe scenery.

I've looked around online and I lot of people say to go to Properties > DLC and tick the ones I want there, but I don't have a DLC tab for some reason.

Click the game in your Library and on the right you will see DLC with the X-Plane logo, there are 6 of them. Click "Manage my 6 DLC" and click the checkbox with Europe and click Save. It should start downloading. The download is 7.6 GB.

Aye, I didn't have that DLC tab there. I figured it out though - I had X Plane 11 on my account through Steam's family sharing thing and it was sharing the base X Plane 11 game but NOT the DLC, meaning I got the 5.4GB base game but none of the scenery.

I logged into the account that actually bought X Plane 11 and was able to install the DLC with that account instead.
