Not sure if that's allowed. I doubt it, given you supposedly "won" it, and can make a profit off of it.

Don't know of any laws in the States that would preclude you from selling property you won. It would have to be a condition placed on the contest by the contest holder and all contestants were aware and had agreed to those rules. Now using Steam Forums as a venue to sell might be a concern .... or not, I am not that familiar with the Steam Forum rules.... :-)

There's a trading section just on the right. He can do whatever he want with that key.

It doesn't work like that. Probably a better idea to clarify with JARDesign, or at the highest level, Laminar Research. Steam trading does not involove money. Steam Marketplace does, but X-Plane is not, and will not, be part of it.

Regarding software I have read somewhere that you have the right to use it if you buy it, but it is not your property, therefore you don't have the right to resell it.
Edit: I would also like to resell the Jardesign A330 after buying the FF A320 but I don't think I can do that.

Right I did some more digging. I found the EULA for their A320, which I imagine is similar to the A330, as it is similar to X-Life Deluxe:

In other words, no. You cannot sell your licence key.

Which begs the question: what encouraged you to enter the competition in the first place? You'd be better off contacting whoever ran the competition and state you would not like the A330.

yea -- we all should not be concerned with any laws we dislike and be able do what we dang well please ---- NOT!

Being part of society -- or even opting in to participate on a service such as Steam - you have to be bound by the laws, regualtions and policies of that service - if you don't like those conditions - then don't participate.

By EU law (and court rulings from the past) you can resell your software, even if EULA and other made-up crap says no.
However, this probably isn't the right place for it.
