Then I have to go and do that for different aircraft.. x-camera you can set limits per aircraft.
Whatever works for you.. however I wouldn't discard a free plugin that takes care of it all in one spot, and then some.
I think it has worked wonkey since Xplane 10 for me.

Wondering why this guy configures his warthog joystick hat switch for xcamera? i need this switch for trimming. any comments on that? tnx
I allowed it to take over TrackIR control. and then manually set limits in the cockpit. Works great at not allowing my body to leave the aircraft through the metal.
I wish I had the Xp-realistic/x-camera combo with FSX. The G-force software that I tried for that did not play well with the trackIR.
It is not the most intuitive of an interface for sure.. but as soon as you get past that it is an amazing tool that fills in the many holes of default support.
At least X-plane *has* default support :)
