No Image in VR headset
I am using an Oculus Quest and I don't know if this is a computer-vr thing, or something I can fix. I get the full image, on my screen, but my VR headset just shows a "loading" message. Is there anything I can do to fix it.

Please, I don't want any "You chose the wrong headset," or anything like that.

I get you on that last sentence. I have another headset, but maybe try to go back to non vr mode, turn all graphics down to minimum. If that works, then gradually increase them.
If this is your very first time attempting vr in xplane, look at the main xplane page in non VR mode or 2d, and hover your mouse on upper right side of screen. Look for 3 or 4 vertical lines . Click that, takes you to setup screen where you see things like joystick, graphics settings etc. Now on that screen, on the far right side, click last item and look for "run in vr mode " or "use vr hardware " or something like that. Very important that box is checked.
Last thing: don't know about Oculus, but for my headset, I have to start xplane from the main vr home page. I can't start xplane in 2d then try and go into vr.

Yes i agree with my HTC Vive. i also have to keep an eye on my refresrate and graphics. Keep it in your PC's limits. Hope this works for you.!!

This should fix it for you.. download the beta version. Load up the game and go to settings then Graphics.. click on the Vulcan Box. Exit the game and go back in. It should work. Let me know if that helps.

I tried that. If I click on "enable VR mouse cursor," it resets to not using the headset. Fine. But if I just "Enable VR Hardware" and then click "Done," it again resets to no VR Hardware.

Did you download the beta version of X-Plane? I just had someone else say the fix worked for him but downloading beta version, clicking Vulcan box in the graphics tab and then going out and back in to the game. I'm not sure about the enable mouse VR. I haven't clicked tht.

One additional thing, I can't find anything that says "Vulcan." I have (I think) version 11.45

Go to your Steam Library.... Right click on X-Plane 11. Click on properties then go to the Beta tab.... Click on Public Beta. Once you do this the beta version will install. Once it's installed, load the program and then go to X-Plane Settings, go to the Graphics Tab and find the box that says "Vulcan" and click on it. Go out of the game and back in and it should work. Good luck!

Found the Vulkan button, clicked it, but I still can't get the Enable VR Hardware, to stay clicked on. If I click the Done button, it either resets the button to off, or crashes the game. I'm beginning to think I wasted my money, until I can get a VR machine.

Curious what the specs are on your computer.

and you did the update to the beta version?

make sure you have the very latest graphics card drivers installed and that your version of Windows is up to date. I know that the Oculus software is very particular about the Windows update.

Edit: Just seen a post a little further down that reminded me you have to have the Oculus software running before you start X-Plane

Yes, I got the update. Yes, I am using the Oculus software. I still only get a loading screen, on my headset, but at least I now get the "Disable Headset" button, telling me the headset is enabled. My brother thinks it's because the headset isn't hooked up to the video card. Is this a valid theory?

Also, I have the latest drivers. As far as statistics: 16384 Ram; 8 core 4GHz processor; Invidia GeForce GTX 980 graphics card. What else do you need?

I would say thats your problem right there. Your head set NEEDS to be plugged in to a HDMI port on the GTX980.

It didn't come, with an HDMI plug. It's cord was USB 3C, I had to buy a cord with USB3A.
