I did notice if I submit an arrival airport and then choose a star and then an approach or just an approach; it wants to fly to the arriving airport first. I have to delete the arriving airport out of the route and then it is ok. But I think I am just programming it somehow wrong. Anyway I love the GTN750.
Comes default in the aerobask eclipse 550 but the realityXP one is far more detailed.
Also, when switching to VLOC you will need to set in the localizer course. The GTN doesn't do that automatically.
It does yes, I have used it flying in reality. If I recall the GNS (the older unit in which the GTN replaced) from RealityXP does have this function but the Flight1 version doesn't. With the GTN both the RealityXP and Flight1 don't have this function. I honestly don't know what is better about the GTN from RealityXP. With the GNS it had more functions (the crossfill capability for example).
It could be just one little thing I'm missing your video might help me catch.
VLOC just means the CDI is displaying information from ground stations like VORs (or in this context an ILS) and not what your GPS is showing.
If you have an ILS approach programmed the frequency will automatically be set to the standby NAV. There is more to an ILS approach than just keeping needles centered so I think I know where you're getting confused.
Press the middle of the knob on the bottom right to bring up the NAV radio and click the freq to set it as active and when it goes into VLOC it will bring you down if you're autopilot is in approach mode.
The ILS antennas at the airport can't feed the GPS lateral and vertical information, only a frequency can do that.
You’re welcome. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
