Yes, that's exactly what preceded the drop in fps,
Also, I can no longer use the Index VR headset. I get an error message:
"Error reading joystick configuration:
Resources/joystick configs/Valve index - Windows.joy
Errors were:
Unknown button in configuration group 1 (Button 2)"
I notice other high end NVIDIA users (1080ti, 2080ti) users are also getting FPS drops.
Can I suggest reporting this bug to the Devs.

Steve Walton uses VR too and a 1080ti. These were his experience below

Yes, restarted as per program's instructions, too. I shall report it, thanks.
then I stopped anti-virus software, i got smooth 30+ fps immediately.
i'm using windows 10 and ryzen1400 and rx570 4gb.
11.41: averaged 22-24 FPS on taxi and takeoff roll, increasing to 35-40 FPS above 2000 feet
11.50b3: averaged 27-29 FPS on taki and takeoff roll, increasing to 45-55 FPS above 2000 feet
So I am seeing roughly 20% improvement in frame rates (not spectacular, but still respectable). Interesting for OP, since the Titan X is roughly equivalent to a 1080Ti in performance and OP has a newer CPU model. I think the performance boosts are most noticeable for older hardware than newer from what people seem to be posting.
as for me.. i got +12 fps when i turned the option on.using a i7 with 1070.
You've been asking upgrade questions since the last summer, will you buy a computer or not?
