Too many AI aircraft?
I have been having issues with XP 11.32 crashing when flying the LES Saab 340. I posted the issue on the X-Pllot forum and was told by the developer that I am using too many AI aircraft. I use World Traffic 3 and had 12 world traffic AI aircraft set up. Wasn't having any issues with any other aircraft. Is there a limit to how many AI aircraft one can use? What are the impacts for using AI aircraft? I tried reducing the number of AI aircraft to 8 but XP11 still crashed when flying the LES Saab 340. So I put the number of AI aircraft to 10 and for now have stopped using the LES Saab. Any recommendations? With World Traffic 3 do I even need any AI aircraft?

You only have 12 ai aircraft set up in World traffic 3? I didn't even know there was an option to have a specific number of aircraft. Is that the sliders on the right, cos I never use em and I thought they worked in percentages.
This is gonna sound like a stupid question but have you set up X Plane ai aircraft also. You need to physically turn on and configure World Traffic 3 every time you start a flight. Have you tried just flying without it being turned on? The in built ai absolutely cripples X Plane but you don't need any on if you are using World Traffic 3

The AI aircraft I have set up are in X-Plane 11. There you add the number of AI aircraft you want and select World Traffic 3 as the aircraft type so that World Traffic 3 can control them.

Why. All you need to do is use World Traffic 3. Download the Bluebird Planes and then they use real world scheduling if its all installed correctly. Theres no need at all to have X Planes internal AI on. That just a waste of fps.

You need to control World Traffic 3 from World Traffic 3. Thats the point of it.

So why do they include in the manual how to add world traffic 3 to AI aircraft in X Plane 11? It's on page 31 of the World Traffic 3 manual.

So I just tried something. I deleted the World Traffic 3 AI aircraft in XP11 and started a flight, then started world traffic 3. I also use Pilot2ATC which has a moving map that tracks the aircraft. After configuring World Traffic 3 at KPHXI looked at the moving map and saw airborne aircraft but they were not moving and I had no moving aircraft on the ground. So I put 10 World Traffic 3 AI aircraft back into XP11 and then looked at the moving map again and now the airborne aircraft were moving and I had traffic moving on the ground. So I guess I need the AI aircraft in XP11 for things to work correctly. I don't know, I'm new to this sort of stuff and the manuals don't really explain some things well. At least not to me.

I don't. I have planes landing, taxiing and taking off with no issues.
All I did was add World Traffic 3 to xplane, download the bluebird planes, added those then added all the flight plans
I don't have ai traffic switched on at all in X Plane. As I said, it cripples the fps.
Did you download the AFRE files. You will need those so that the planes move and know where to go

I downloaded all of the files it mentioned in the instructions and installed them. Maybe I'll go over the instructions again but I did everything explained in instructions.

This is what I don't like about some addons for X Plane. Too complicated. There should be an installer for World Traffic 3 that installs and sets everything up for you. This is garbage the way you have to download this, download that, etc, etc. You pay for the add on and have to do all of the work installing it.

From what I'm reading in the manual, thats so your ACAS can see the planes. Its optional but not necessary to work.
To be fair, I use GA aircraft and I'm thinking that ACAS is the tube liners radar

I'll have to read that over again. But after I purchased it I was very disappointed in World Traffic 3.

So was I, very much, but they have added stuff that allows for en route planes. They are also looking into adding so all flights in the world are in there.

I'll be buying the JustFlight Traffic Global when they decide to release that in X Plane

I may have to look at that. World Traffic 3 is a share ware program, a piecemeal project, not a complete program that installs and configures everything for you. It's nice when and if it works but to have to pay for this and then go through hoops to get everything installed, let along check on changes and install them. I find it very frustrating.

I see Just Flight's Traffic Control is in early access and is for FSX and P3D. Guess it will be some time before it's available for XP11, if it even will be.

Yeah, I have it. There are so many flights in there at the minute, 45000 and they haven't finished compiling yet as its all got to be inputted manually. They mentioned on their support page that they will be bringing two apps over to X Plane. That can only be Traffic Global and Air Hauler 2
