X-Plane 11

how much disk space does it take up?
i was about to get this game until I read that unless I were to install the free scenery packs for each continent, everything on earth would appear as an ocean. I want all the scenery to be installed though...
do I really have to install all those packs to not have everything appear as an ocean?
and if I do, how much disk space would the game including those packs take up?
thank for answering

I can at least confirm that these 65 GB is very likely to be correct in practice since my installation (with all regions installed) is mainly the default one with just a few additional addons and my x-plane 11 directory exactly consumes 79.2 GB of disk space at the moment.

Around 65GB for total installation.
Check link below for System Requirements (near bottom of page).
https://store.steampowered.com/app/269950/XPlane_11/

From memory, each pack was around 5GB.

That's because you need the extra space to extract and install the files. So you do need 90G of total free space to install the Simulator with the scenery.

I have no clue where you're reading this 90GB for each pack, but it's 65GB max for all default scenery packs, period. I have NA and SA packs installed and I think total my game is 24ish GB.

If you go for Ortho tiles (photo real textures) then you can easily go over 200GB.

Why don't you just install the thing and see if it says you don't have enough disk space instead of asking these sorts of questions. The website says you need 65G of free disk space to install it.

Sorry, I just don't understand why you would need advise from people who have installed this simulator? It takes 65G of disk space as stated on the store page. The thing is where does that lead to? I have installed ortho scenery, a weather engine, airports, aircraft, etc. My X-Plane 11 is now on one 2TB hard drive and is taking up 1,581.74G of disk space.

if you were able to read and understand things, you would realize that I asked why the scenario packs require 90GB of space +.

Sorry for not answering your question to begin with. As the website states the total installation takes up 65G of disk space. But the scenery that is included is contained in 6 DLC that can be installed separately. Before starting the installation you would need to go to properties and DLC and uncheck any of the 6 continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America) that you don't want to install. The DLC which are included are listed as free when you click to show all DLC. The rest of course would need to be purchased separately.
