Flight school VOR Navigation--plane keeps nosing up
I've just got this and on the VOR Navigation part of Flight School it seems at a certain point the plane just starts wanting to nose up. I have the control pushed all the way forward, and it keeps nose up until it basically stalls, then it noses down, but as soon as it regains airspeed, it noses up again. And it just yo-yos like this.

Has anyone else encountered this? Am I missing something or is this a bug?

If you're needing to apply full forward pressure on the yoke and it still doesn't drop the nose then you have a messed up CG or have your trim set to something that is way off. I'm assuming the latter, try some nose down trim (and a lot of it). What part of the flight is this? You should trim the aircraft to maintain an airspeed appropriate for the portion of flight.

I'm in flight school. They have not even taught us about trim yet yet. I had no problems in the previous tutorials.

Can you make a video of this showing the trim wheel?

Sorry, I'm a total noob and do not know the terminology. What is the trim wheel? Is that the main control?

The sim just crashed on me so am putting it away for the evening. I'll see if I can upload something tomorrow. Thanks for the assistance :-)

Flying the 172 right? What I mean by what portion is what is it you're doing, are you climbing? If so trim to maintain climb speed, if done right the plane shouldn't be all over the place. It might dip up and down a bit depending on what happens with airspeed because it will be trimmed to try and maintain that speed.

Part of my problem is every time the tutorial stops to give me an instruction it resets my cabin view and I lose control of the stick. I wind up in a dive or a big bank and have to regain control. It seems I get into some sort of oscillation by doing this. I'll try and upload a video tomorrow.

Alright, will sub to thread.

The flight school in x-plane is not terribly great. You'd be better off to just self train and refer to good youtube videos. It sounds like x-plane flight school mode might be taking control for whatever reason.

Have you tried just doing a normal flight in the Cessna 172? Can you take-off, climb, and establish level flight? If you can do that, but can't do it in the tutorial, then I'd say it is a glitch.

I could not reproduce the problem. So it must have been a glitch, perhaps it got fixed when I tweaked my monitor settings.

Thanks for your help though.

Do you have a particular Youtuber you recommend? I'm a reasonable intelligent person, though with no flying experience, and I found the VOR in flightschool really confusing. The explanations are too vague.
