1. Press the "FPL" button on the bottom right side of the Co Pilots display, the Flightplan display opens with the airport youre currently at on the top, check if the background of the letter of that waypoint are highlighted or not
2. Below the button assembly there are 2 knobs, if the background of the first waypoint isnt highlighted you have to push the inner one first, then rotate the outer one clockwise to get to the empty waypoint slot underneath the first. After that rotate the smaller knob in any direction. Now the panel opens up where you can enter waypoints/airports you wanna fly to
3. Navigate through the alphabet to choose the first letter of your waypoint/target airport by rotating the same knob youve just pushed, use the bigger knob to navigate to the next letter
4. After youve entered your airport/waypoint correctly push the "ENT" on the button assembly twice, your waypoint is now dialed in
5. Now navigate to the next waypoint with the outer knob again and repeat the process
The G1000 also allows you to enter a certain altitude on the right side you want to pass the waypoint at. If you want to close the flight plan page simply press "FPL" again. If you want to delete a waypoint highlight it and then press the "CLR" button
Cessna without G1000:
Pretty much the same as the G1000, look at the top center screen, the buttons and knobs are pretty much similar, just the design is a little different.
Hope this was helpful :)
So you already have a plan from point A to point B. Just fly it.
It doesn't matter if videos are 2 years or 2 days old, GPS is the same.
The flight path is drawn on GPS screen, magenta line. You either fly it by hand or engange autopilot and plane flies itselft following that line. Don't forget to switch to GPS mode.
If you want to fly with GPS you must click CDI to change it to GPS mode, then turn on AP and near that there's a NAV button, click it too and plane should follow the path on GPS.
HDG mode is for flying in heading mode. You set your desired heading here https://fsxtimes.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/c172_hdcmp_150112a.gif and click HDG then plane will follow the heading you set.
Others who are more experienced than me might explain everything in more detail, i just do what i see on youtube.
Yes. Choose cessna 172 as aircraft type and generate a flight plan.
You could also try littlenavmap, it's an amazing flight planning tool.
Bottom side pilots screen, the buttons with the little arrows pointing upwards, 5th or 6th button from the left. It allows you to switch between GPS and NAV mode, if youre in GPS mode press the NAV button on the Autopilot after youve enganged it, the plane will now follow the route you set earlier.
