Landing rate.

I know I know people say 40-50FPM is a good landing rate. But those greaser landing usually means long landing. Realistically what landing rates are considered as a comfortable landing, hard landing and very hard landings?

I'm mostly flying 757 and I get around 20-100 fpm if I aim for a greaser which means very long landing, lf I hit the exact landing mark, I get around 250-400fpm.

~200-300 is good i think. 400 probably is a little hard.

Boeing specifies final flare landing rates between 60-180 FPM.

Some extra info, anything under 100 is considered somewhat dangerous, particularly very soft ones. This is because sensors may not pick up the touchdown and not deploy autobrake, speedbrake, decel etc. On short runways, this can be very problematic.

I was doing some digging, and that's what I read. Greasers are mostly for show offs and it's not recommend because it's dangerous. Pilots prefer firm landing.

So yes you are right. I personally think 200-300 would be a good landing. Above 400 falls under the category of hard landings.
