I really would not use an x-box controller with a proper flight sim. Sure it would be better than mouse keyboard, and you could map a few useful commands, but given how good the flight model is in X-plane you really want a yoke/stick.

yeah, I just plan to use it for flight controlls, like for landings and bind the flaps to it, brakes

I also use an X-box controller - only on my travel rig, but it works very well. Have flaps, trim, standard flight control, brakes etc mapped. On my home system I am using X52 flight system and rudder pedals but theyare sort of hard to pack when I am on the road.

So if you hap an X-box controller - go for it.

I have yoke, pedals throttle quadrant and radio panel stored under my desk. Sometimes I just use the X-box controller instead because I don't have the energy and time to mount the full setup. The X-box controller works very well with X-Plane. Just program the buttons and add some nullzone to the pitch and roll stick so you're sure it's centered when you're not touching it (i guess it depends on how worn down your controller is).
My Xbox controller doesn't work I don't know why. It doesn't show on joystick. Could u please tell me how to set it?

Open the settings window, go to the joystick tab, and select your controller there; then move the sticks and press the buttons to see where they are, and set them to the actions and functions you want for each one.

Same here.

If I open the joystick tab it only can only see my racing wheel and not the Xbox one controller. If I unplug my g920 racing wheel, it says no flight controls found. If I unplug my xbox one controller and plug it in, it still says no flight controllers found.

Plug in my racing wheel and it can see my racing wheel.

My controller works perfectly on my other steam and windows games.

Please help

I can never get a decent throttle control with xbox controller in flight sims, but it works fine for Condor since there are no engines...

honestly what I did is instead of raising it like by holding rt I just binded it to "a" and "b" with "a" being 20% throttle down and "b" being 20% throttle up...

You have your X-box controller ENABLED in Steam's "BIG PICTURE MODE".

Disable it there and it will appear in X-plane.

I'd recommend the Saitek Yoke and to add extra points to a setup a 2nd throttle quadrant and maybe buy some Boeing Styled Throttle set that comes with: Flap lever, Speedbrake Lever, Boeing Styled Throttles(can be a set of 2 or 4 depending which one you decide to get) or I also heard of the Honeycomb Yoke and Throttle which both are separately 200$ totaling 400$ and if you want a helicopter styled setup there is one called microHELIS Cyclic Stick Bell 429 but I use an Xbox Controller for now since my Saitek Yoke and throttle replacement are on it's way tomorrow after the whole yoke stopped working including the display, controls, etc.
