X-Plane 11
[SOLVED] Seeking a checklist plugin
Hello,
As a real beginner, I've spent the last few weeks just beginning my flights on the end of the runway with engines running, concentrating more on FMC routing and navigation in the 737-800 and have been coming along nicely with this.
I'm seeking to expand my learning and was wondering if anyone knows of any good "Checklist plugins" that will not only give you a checklist of start up procedures for the different planes, but would also point each knob or button out so you don't have to fumble around trying to guess which one is which. The whole goal is to just do this temporarily with the goal of not relying on the plug-in after using it so many times.
Thank you.

Xchecklist will even read the entries to you and react as you proceed like a copilot.
Great, thanks!
Frustrating. Tried every which way to get it working correctly, but wish the dev. could better explain the installation instructions.
Simple

Put the folder called "Xchecklist" from the ZIP file into the

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins

directory so you have this

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\Xchecklist

Download the appropriate XChecklist file for each plane from X-plane.org.

It will be a text file called clist.txt. Note EVERY checklist you download will have this one name.
You must download this file and place it into the aircraft's folder

So if I download the clist.txt file for the A320 I would place it into

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Heavy Metal\Airbus 320\

Also note:

There was a prior program called XChecklist that while good was not as extensive as the new version. That means clist.txt files exist for the old program. The old clist.txt files do not work with the new version.

You can tell them apart by opening the clist.txt file.

You should see something like this for the newer versions...

sw_checklist:INTRODUCTION
sw_itemvoid:AIRBUS A320 SHORT CHECKLIST
sw_itemvoid:BY HIDDENPAWN

Note the SW_ prefix that gives away the use of the new version.

Make sure the plugin is active in X-plane and load up a plane that you have installed a clist.txt file for. You'll hear the readback immediately.

opjose,

A huge thank you to you! Your instructions, they made perfect sense. Followed what you told me step by step and now have Xchecklist up and running for my aircraft.
It was that second major step you told me to do that I hadn't in the first try, which is the need to go to Xplane.org and download each file for each aircraft and put that file in the appropriate aircraft file.
Again, a big thanks!

Great!

Please edit your first post and put a [SOLVED] at the beginning of the title so that others can see and refer to solutions.

Happy flying!
