Good luck and success!
PS: Have here an old 500W 80 PLUS Silver ps and no problems. ;)
can you provide your windows event viewer crash log?
I have got as far as Event Viewer but cannot see a Crash Log.I am sure it is my ignorance but there you have it.Thanks all the same.
Check: X-Plane 11\log.txt for any error infos. No hints: Run XP without any periphery plugged to your USB ports. Start XP only with your mouse and keyboard.
Any addons installed? Plugins? Clean it. Same problems with a clean XP version vanilla/witout any addons/plugins? Try the demo: https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/
How about your operation system? Faulty patches....? Security sofware... .
With a faulty or weak power supply your hole computer will crash.
Still no success? Offical support: https://questions.x-plane.com/questions

Win7 is still supported. Looks like your ancient slow gpu is the problem. X-plane could not even read the gpu infos or refused it.
Funny, X-planes minimum requirements:
DirectX 11-capable video card from NVIDIA or AMD w/512 MB VRAM
With a 550 TI you are within the requirements. You could try to patch your gpu driver.
http://www.nvidia.de/Download/index.aspx?lang=en
Also the 750 ti is slow and ancient (2014 low entry level gpu). At least catch a 1060 with 6gb VRAM in my opinion or even better. If money is no issue: 1070 TI, 1080TI or wait for the next generation coming later this year. Fact: Your salesman is selling you outdaded & slow hardware.

Also, you should look at an 850w PSU. That way it will handle anything you might get later.
