Confused and Frustrated

Hello!

I have been for the last couple of weeks trying to get X- Plane 11 to work on my computer without any success. I was told on the internet that my computer did not have enough power and so i have done an upgrade on it, following are the details og my computer :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60 Hz 3.60 GHz
RAM 16.0 GB
System Type 64-bit Operating System
ASUS 4GB RAM GEFORCE GTX 1050 Ti
Still no success as i do not make it to the loading screen. I have taken it back to the computer shop 3 times where it starts without a problem. When i get it home it works but as sson as i change a cable or re-plug a component into the computer it crashes and will not load up again, I get a message saying X- Plane 11 has stopped working and Windows is trying to find a solution etc etc.

I have rum out of ideas and hope someone can help!!!!!

You refer that as soon as you re-plug a component the PC crashes; this could be a problem with the component but it is most probably a problem with your power supply not being able to deliver the additional power under load. Make sure you have at least a 600 Watt power supply.

Delete all the files in the entire preferences folder and start over from ground zero: \X-Plane 11\Output\preferences

Thanks for that it is something to consider as the power supply is the only thing I have not upgraded.I believe the existing power supply is a 550.Would a 650 Ti be sufficient?

Thanks for your reply.I have already done so without any positive result.I believe I will work on Imperial's suggestion.

Firstly: Verify XP files over steam. Done: start again. Crashed:

Check: X-Plane 11\log.txt for any error infos. No hints: Run XP without any periphery plugged to your USB ports. Start XP only with your mouse and keyboard.

Any addons installed? Plugins? Clean it. Same problems with a clean XP version vanilla/witout any addons/plugins? Try the demo: https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/

Hi Harry,Thanks for the reply.Ihave pretty much tried all the things you suggest so I am pasting the log.text for you to look at.Hope you find something cause my nearly 70 year old brain is just about done in.I have also just ordered a 750Ti to replace my old 550. Win7 is still supported. Looks like your ancient slow gpu is the problem. X-plane could not even read the gpu infos or refused it.

Funny, X-planes minimum requirements:
DirectX 11-capable video card from NVIDIA or AMD w/512 MB VRAM

With a 550 TI you are within the requirements. You could try to patch your gpu driver.

Also the 750 ti is slow and ancient (2014 low entry level gpu). At least catch a 1060 with 6gb VRAM in my opinion or even better. If money is no issue: 1070 TI, 1080TI or wait for the next generation coming later this year. Fact: Your salesman is selling you outdaded & slow hardware.

OK. I'm confusd. In your first post you said you have a 1050ti and further down you say you're replacing your 550 with a 750. Which GPU do you actually have? If it's the 550, don't replace it with a 750. As you are told, they are both ancient. Get at least a 1070ti or wait for the new releases later this year.
Also, you should look at an 850w PSU. That way it will handle anything you might get later.

850W is way too much unless you use titan X in SLI mode or something. If he only has 1050ti then 500W is more than he needs, 400W is enough. If he's ever gonna upgrade to 1080ti he could buy 650W and still have a reserve.

The 1050 ti is a slow entry-level gpu.

Nevertheless X-plane should run on your system. Have you tried the newest gpu driver?
