Navdata out of date
Hello,

I have just purchased X-Plane about 2 days ago, after launching it for the first time and setting up the controllers I have tried on my first flight to use the G430 it says "Nadata out of date". It's the same thing with the G530, I always have the message (MSG) saying "Navdata out of date".

I haven't installed anything.

I have seen on the forums that X-Plane uses the default navdata, so I don't understand why I have this message.

Check other posts on this. That is the way it is. If you want your nav data updated you will need to get a subscription to navigraph or aerosoft.

Hello John, thank you for your reply.

I was wondering if I get the 1806 Navigraph AIRAC cycle, will it work and can I just use it for a while without updating it or will I have to always update it each x-months ?

Yep, it has to be updated every cycle or it'll go out of date. It's not too much of a big deal though. I've flown a lot of aircraft successfully and have yet to get a cycle.

You don't have to update your nav data. Use Onlineflightplanner.org to generate plans suited to your airac which I believe is 1611.
There's no point to pay and get update just to get rid of that message.

You can also use Little Nav Map to do your flight planning (http://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html) it's free. You can update it or leave it at your current cycle. If you fly by yourself you really don't need to update the nav data.
